Alexey N. Reymers. Acting Pro-Rector

Born: July 26 1962, Irkutsk

Graduated with honors from MSU Faculty of Geology (1988) and post-graduate school (1991). Candidate of Geology (1992).Academic Title of Associate Professor (1996).

Researcher, Associate Professor, Chair of Paleontology (1994), Deputy Dean, Faculty of Geology (2002); Head of Dushanbe Branch of MSU (2008).

Alexey N. Reymers’ scientific interests cover Eurasian Carbonian–Triassic stratigraphy and paleontology. He is a holder of grants from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, having been managing groups working under various contracts. He has been delivering a few undergraduate courses at the Faculty of Geology and supervising students’ summer geological field school.

Alexey N. Reymers received the title of Soros Associate Professor in 1996 and 1997. He has published over 40 works, his monograph “Conodonts of the Lower Permian in the Urals, Caspian Region and Pamirs” earned him Hans Rausing Medal. His has also been awarded MSU Rector’s Certificate of Merit (2005) and the Certificate of Merit of the RF Ministry of Education and Science (2007).

Hobbies: team sports, travelling.
