From June 24 to July 4, 2019, the University Gymnasium in conjunction with the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics are implementing a program for advanced training of math teachers in secondary schools (which operate on the basis of Rosneft classes) within the framework of MSU and Rosneft project. Classes on the course Selected methods for solving problems of Olympiads and exams in mathematics are held at the University Gymnasium in the amount of 36 hours using a video-conferencing system. What’s more, the leading professors of the University Gymnasium and the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University give lectures on the methods of teaching a number of school courses key topics in algebra and geometry. Particular attention is paid to aspects of preparation for the exam and entrance examinations in mathematics for the further admission to higher educational institutions.
More than 60 teachers from all over Russia are involved in the project: from Grozny to Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Nakhodka. Thus, the target of the Vernadsky scientific and educational consortium project presented at the 11th Congress of the Russian Rectors’ Union in April 2018 and aimed at supporting education and science in Russian regions, strengthening ties between regional and leading universities of the country, ensuring a high level of staff training in the fields is being implemented. Math teachers from schools based on the territory of the Vernadsky-Western Siberia, Vernadsky-Udmurtia, Vernadsky-Kuzbass and Vernadsky-Far East scientific and educational consortia take part in the advanced training program.
